WHERE CAN I EAT IN BLUE RIDGE, GA?

We hear this question frequently. Because “the powers that be” in our area have only recently approved wine/beer by the glass, you will not find large chain restaurants (other than fast food types) in Blue Ridge.

What we do have, however, are great little Mom & Pop restaurants you will not find in your own backyard.

Here are a few recommendations:

CUCINA RUSTICA
For a quiet atmosphere and good food we recommend Cucina Rustica at Forge Mill. (It is not family friendly so you won’t see many kids.) Try the polenta with gorgonzola & sun dried tomatoes appetizer – excellent!

SERENITY GARDEN CAFÉ
For great homemade soup (as well as other things), go to Serenity Garden Café on East Main Street. It’s a tiny place so there may be a wait, but the food is great.

BLUE JEANS
Blue Jeans Pizza, Pasta & Calzones in Hampton Square has been a family favorite for years. They do not have a kids menu but you can order a side of spaghetti or ravioli that seems to just the right amount. If you have a salad, you must try the house dressing! It’s kept us coming back for years!


BLACKBERRY RIDGE EATERY
Offering southern-style cooking in a family atmosphere, this restaurant has quickly become one of our family’s favorite places to eat in Blue Ridge.


EL AGAVE
For Mexican food we go to El Agave on Main Street (Behind Huck General Store). It seems fresher than most run-of-the-mill Mexican joints. We really like the Chicken Carne Asada Burrito (marinated chicken).

GREAT TIME TO BUY BLUE RIDGE , GA REAL ESTATE

We continue to be asked “is this the bottom?”. While no one can answer that for sure, we really do believe that it is.

Many of those we’ve spoken to have little interest in continuing to fund a failing stock portfolio and feel that the future of real estate is much more positive in regard to investment. We agree!

With the new commercial development projects that appear to be moving forward, we are very optimistic about the Blue Ridge real estate market in summer 2009 – 2010 and beyond.

On a different note, several of the buyers we’ve spoken to have been concerned that money would not be available for loans, but we have not found that to be the case for qualified buyers.
